Whether you’re recovering from a wild night out or have been pulling an all-nighter ahead of upcoming GCSE and A-Level exams, McDonald’s breakfast is a popular choice.

From hearty Egg McMuffins to pancakes and porridge, there’s no shortage of choices on the morning menu.

However, many are often left disheartened when they arrive too early or too late to take advantage of it. Though, there are a whole host of new menu items that may just make up for missing out on McMuffins.

To avoid having to stomach a Fillet-O-Fish before noon, read on to find out exactly when the chain’s branches serve up the breakfast selection.

What time does McDonald’s start serving breakfast?

Breakfast starts and ends at different times at different McDonald’s branches across the country. Generally, breakfast is served when the restaurants open, but 24-hour branches serve breakfast from 5am.

Other McDonald’s restaurants in the UK tend to open at around 6am.

However, before setting off on your breakfast-buying expedition, it’s best to find out what time your local McDonald’s opens.

To do that, simply visit the McDonald’s website and use its restaurant locator tool.

What time does McDonald’s stop serving breakfast?

McDonald’s serves breakfast until 11am at all restaurants across the UK.

The previous cut-off time for breakfast was 10.30am, but the chain extended the hours in November 2019.

According to McDonald’s, this is because they can’t accommodate cooking both the breakfast and main menu at the same time.

The company website states: ‘Items on our breakfast menu are cooked slightly differently and at a different temperature from items on our main menu.

‘This means we don’t have enough space in our kitchens to accommodate the cooking and preparation of our breakfast and main menus at the same time.

‘The 11am cut off enables us to accommodate our breakfast lovers, whilst allowing the customers who enjoy our main menu to get their food before 11:30am.’

If you miss the window for a breakfast, you can always attempt an at-home Sausage & Egg McMuffin.
